The year 2009 marked our 52th year in business!!
Melrose Bakery opened November 11th 1957. My grandparents Peter and Willie started our family bakery with authentic Dutch recipes. My father Fred began operating the family business in 1969. Today, we still use those same great recipes. We bake our cakes and pastries from scratch with only the best ingredients.
Our wedding cake business has grown over 50 years. Although there are only a few photographs of the cakes we made back then, they were very detailed and traditional.
Today, our wedding cakes are as unique as the brides and grooms to-be who come into our shop.
We pride ourselves in making beautiful and great tasting cakes. It is important to us that you have both the cake of your dreams and a cake that your guests will actually enjoy eating!
We believe, and our clients tell us, that our great tasting cakes and true buttercream icing set us apart from the rest.
We would encourage you to come to our bakery, look at our wedding cake display and albums and sample our cake.
Please call to let us know you're coming and we'll make some samples just for you.
We also make many special cakes for any occasion. Every week, we make up to 150 cakes for birthdays, anniversaries, wedding and baby showers, corporate events, baptisms and christenings, etc.
